Lavender Tea
Suggested preparation time: 5-10 minutes ⏰
Are you a tea lover and wanted to explore new taste of tea? Or tired of Black English tea or Green tea? Let’s enjoy Lavender tea together.
Ingredients
1 tablespoon dried culinary lavender buds (organic, if possible)
2 cups water
Optional: honey, lemon slices, or fresh lavender sprigs for garnish
Instructions
Prepare the Lavender:
Measure out 1 tablespoon of dried culinary lavender buds. If the lavender buds are still on stems, you can gently remove them from the stems before using.
Boil Water:
In a small saucepan, bring 2 cups of water to a gentle boil over medium heat.
Steep Lavender:
Once the water reaches a boil, remove the saucepan from the heat. Add the dried lavender buds to the hot water, and give it a gentle stir to ensure the buds are fully immersed.
Cover and Steep:
Cover the saucepan with a lid and let the lavender steep in the hot water for about 5-7 minutes. Steeping time can vary based on personal preference and desired strength of flavor. Keep in mind that steeping for too long can result in a bitter taste.
Strain:
After steeping, use a fine-mesh sieve, tea strainer, or cheesecloth to strain out the lavender buds from the tea. Pour the infused tea into a teapot or serving cups.
Serve:
Lavender tea can be enjoyed hot or cold. If desired, sweeten the tea with honey to taste and add a squeeze of fresh lemon juice for brightness. Garnish with a sprig of fresh lavender for an extra touch of aroma and visual appeal.
Enjoy:
Serve the lavender tea immediately and enjoy its soothing aroma and delicate floral flavor. Sip slowly and savor the calming properties of this herbal infusion.
Storage:
Any leftover lavender tea can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Simply reheat it on the stovetop or enjoy it chilled over ice.
That's it! With just a few simple steps, you can prepare your own delicious and aromatic lavender tea at home. Adjust the sweetness and flavorings according to your preference, and feel free to experiment with different variations to suit your taste buds.
