Do you love lemonade? Let’s make lavender lemonade together and enjoy it!
Ingredients
1 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice (about 4-6 lemons)
1/2 cup granulated sugar (adjust to taste)
4 cups water
2 tablespoons dried culinary lavender buds (organic, if possible)
Ice cubes
Optional: Lemon slices and fresh lavender sprigs for garnish
Instructions
Prepare the Lavender:
Measure out 2 tablespoons of dried culinary lavender buds. If the lavender buds are still on stems, you can gently remove them from the stems before using.
Make Lavender Infused Simple Syrup:
In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup of water and 1/2 cup of granulated sugar. Add the dried lavender buds to the saucepan. Heat the mixture over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the sugar is completely dissolved. Once dissolved, remove the saucepan from the heat and let the lavender infuse in the syrup for about 10-15 minutes. Strain out the lavender buds using a fine-mesh sieve or cheesecloth, and discard the buds. This creates a lavender-infused simple syrup.
Prepare Lemon Juice:
While the lavender syrup is infusing, juice enough lemons to yield 1 cup of freshly squeezed lemon juice. This typically requires about 4-6 lemons, depending on their size and juiciness.
Combine Lemon Juice and Lavender Syrup:
In a large pitcher, combine the freshly squeezed lemon juice with the lavender-infused simple syrup. Stir well to ensure the flavors are evenly distributed.
Add Water:
Pour 4 cups of water into the pitcher with the lemon-lavender mixture. Stir again to combine all the ingredients thoroughly.
Chill:
Place the pitcher of lavender lemonade in the refrigerator to chill for at least 1-2 hours, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Serve:
Once chilled, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the lavender lemonade over the ice. Optionally, garnish each glass with a slice of lemon and a sprig of fresh lavender for an extra decorative touch.
Enjoy:
Serve the lavender lemonade immediately and enjoy its refreshing and aromatic flavor. Sip slowly and savor the combination of tangy lemon and subtle floral notes from the lavender.
